Alix and Laurenz are adventurous world travellers whose journey brought them to the stunning coastline of Tofino, BC, on the west coast of Canada. Their love story began in the lush, tropical landscapes of Bali, Indonesia. At the time, Alix called Scotland home while Laurenz was living in Australia. After their time in paradise came to an end, Laurenz made the sweetest decision—he moved to Scotland to be with Alix.

From there, their journey together continued as they explored New Zealand in a camper van, deepening their connection through shared experiences and adventures. Their travels eventually led them to Vancouver Island, where they got engaged in beautiful Tofino, known for its rugged coastline, laid-back vibe, and world-class surfing.

Postponed Plans, New Adventures

Although they had originally planned to tie the knot in Belgium, the pandemic forced them to cancel their wedding. Still, they made the most of their time in Tofino, embracing the west coast spirit. I knew I wanted to help them remember this special chapter of their story, so we met up early one morning for a memorable surf session and couples shoot at Cox Bay, one of Tofino’s most iconic beaches best for all skill levels.

A Surf-Inspired Photo Session

Even though the surf conditions that day weren’t ideal, we had such a fun and relaxed time. Clad in their wet suits, Alix and Laurenz brought their surfboard to the shoreline, adding a true Tofino surf experience vibe to the session. While we didn’t catch many waves, we captured the essence of the moment.
