Kailli and Mason, a Tofino Couple, woke up early in the morning for a “sunrise session” on North Chesterman Beach. If you’ve ever been to Tofino – or after seeing these pictures – you’ll know why that is in quotation marks! When there is a sunrise or sunset, its GORGEOUS! But usually, the little town and surrounding beaches are covered in fog. I personally love fog, it adds such a whimsical west coast feel. However, I did feel for these two as it wasn’t a warm morning by any means!
What should you do if your session is all fogged out? Just go with it! Tofino is known for rain and storms, and any weather condition looks gorgeous with the lush greenery and grey beaches. Want to plan ahead? You can try! Keep an eye on the weather and try to book a more last minute session, but be ware that some photographers may be all booked up! Check in Tofino facebook groups if you’re wanting to ask if anyone has any availability on your desired day, and cross your fingers that winds don’t blow in the storm clouds!
Mason and Kailli grew up on the mainland, however due to Mason’s work, they were relocated to a small island off of Tofino. This move has definitely left them with some crazy adventures! The two have been together for three years and a few weeks after our session, Mason popped the question! I’ve seen the ring, it’s stunning! I hope to one day see the ring in person, and meet their little pup, Mila.
