Intimate COVID-19 Wedding

Cassy and Griffin’s Wedding Story

Cassy and Griffin had planned to get married on the beach in September with all of their friends and family, but with COVID-19, their plans had to change. They decided to get married the same weekend as Griffin’s sister to reduce their families ferry travel. This made their planning window dwindle down to less than three months! Due to restrictions on event licences in parks and beaches, they decided to get married in their church, an equally meaningful location for them and their family. Despite the whirlwind of planning and global pandemic, these two pulled off the most stunning intimate wedding.

Cassy wore her grad jewelry from her late grandmother, and perfume from her late grandfather. Her sister in law did her hair for her and her mother in law made the cake. The entire day was woven with little pieces of family togetherness and meaning. We ended the day at Island View Beach, and my favourite moment was right before the couple headed for dinner. Dance has a big part in Cassy and Griffins relationship. And even though their reception was postponed, I new they deserved to have a special first dance. The two swayed, and danced on the beach. Cassy in her jacket in west coast style, and Griffin sang quietly to her. One of my favourite first dances to date!

Venue: Oaklands Bible Chapel

Dress: Shades of White Bridal

We really would have loved to have a beach wedding but COVID couldn’t stop us. We are excited to celebrate with the rest of our family and friends next year when all this social distancing has calmed down! 🙂
